In 2010 we were blessed to have Rev Chadwick King preach at our annual youth weekend. Chadwick King is the Senior Pastor of The Promise Center in Santa Rosa, CA and he did a wonderful job of, not only ministering to our young people, but also to the entire church. The following clip is part of a great sermon he preached entitled, God Is With Us. In his sermon, Rev King highlights the fact that Jesus fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah:
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. (Isa 7:14)
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. (Mat 1:23)
Rev King goes on to demonstrate that God has been with us from the beginning and will continue to be us until the end! It was a wonderfully encouraging sermon and I believe this video will bless you today.
If this blessed you or encouraged you please let us know by leaving a comment below. You can also follow Chadwick King on twitter.
Let the POS rejoice, Family Sunday is almost here! For those of you who may not be familiar with Family Sunday let me explain it to you. Once every three months or so we have this incredible phenomenon where there are five Sundays in one month. When there are five Sundays in a month, the fifth Sunday is a Family Sunday. We combine the Morning and Evening Service so there is only one service.
Family Sunday is designed to give you a rest as well as time with your family. We know how busy the weekends can get, so this will be a perfect opportunity for you to spend time with your loved ones.
These Sundays will also be a great chance for the whole POS to come together. We believe that the church is a family, we are all sons and daughters of God (2 Cor 6:18), so this will be a wonderful time for the POS Family, those who attend either Morning or Evening Worship, to spend together in worship of our Lord and Saviour!
Finally, this is a wonderful chance for you to introduce your family and friends to what you have come to love and enjoy every week at the POS. Family Sunday falls on July 31st with worship beginning at 10:00am.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Believe it or not but Turning Point 2011* is just two months away! We are happy to announce that Rev Mark Morgan, Senior Pastor of Abounding Grace in San Francisco, CA and President of Global Impact Ministries, will be our guest speaker. Rev Morgan is a powerful speaker who has spearheaded crusades in America and Asia where there have been tremendous outpourings of the Holy Ghost experienced by thousands. The theme for this year is “Global Impact” born out of Jesus’s words to his disciples in Acts chapter 1 verse 8:
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
We can see in this passage of scripture that the formula for “Global Impact” is; first, to receive the Holy Ghost then, to influence your Community, Country, Region and World. It is the desire of the POS to impact Sydney, Australia, the South Pacific and the World by the power of the Holy Ghost. We are excited about what God is going to do through this special weekend and the insightful ministry of Mark Morgan. Do not forget to pencil TP 2011 into your diaries, the 16th to the 18th of September. You do not want to miss this incredible weekend!

A few weeks ago Pastor Stan, upon returning from his trip to America, preached a message entitled “The Heart of All Matters.” It was an in-depth look at the Parable of the Sower (Mark 4) and how each kind of ground applies to different conditions of the human heart (you can watch the entire message on our podcast). The following clip addresses the responsibility each one of us has to seek after the knowledge of God. Pastor Stan highlights Proverbs 25:2 in his attempt at revealing to the listener the importance of reading and studying the Bible (he dedicated a full sermon to this subject entitled “Get A Grip”). Take a few minutes and watch the following clip. We pray that it inspires you to spend more time in the Word of God.
