Encounters With Jesus

EncountersWithJesusHave you ever wondered what it would have been like to meet Jesus face to face? As a young Christian, I had often pondered this thought and then tried to imagine such a glorious event. Though no longer walking in his humanity on this earth yet by reading the New Testament, particularly the Gospels, we can piece together an idea of what that might have resembled through the personal encounters that Jesus had with individuals of varying walks of life.

We see him interacting with the sick and demonized, the rich and poor, the educated and ignorant, the proud and humble. Just about the entire cross section of society had some dealings with Christ and how he talked, ministered, blessed, healed, rebuked and forgave serves as an example to us believers today as to how he would interact with us who might find ourselves in similar conditions and situations.

Though we no longer know Christ after the flesh but after the Spirit, that same Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Jesus Christ dwelling in us. God’s desire is to interact with his creation. Just as he had done when he would come to commune with Adam and Eve in the Garden, God seeks fellowship with us at all times and regardless of our circumstances.

I believe that when we understand how Jesus encountered with people, we can understand how He approaches us and how we in turn learn to interact with Him. This month I am continuing my series; Encounters with Jesus. Utilize these lessons to launch you into a deeper understanding of Jesus and our relationship with Him.

“The Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because in neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.” John 14:17-18 NKJV
